Swiss Meadows, Khajjiar, a part of The Great Himalayan resorts is a beautifully built hill resort in Khajjiar offering world class facilities. Khajjiar is a small grassy meadow located in the picturesque Chamba valley is often known as Switzerland of India. It is an important picnic spot whose quiet environs beacon the tourists traveling between Dalhousie and Chamba.
Apple Valley, Bharmaur is the latest addition to The Great Himalayan Resorts which will be operational by June 2007. Bharmaur lies in the foot hill of upper Himalayan ranges which is considered to be sacred as it is the abode of Lord Shiva where, in mythology he is considered to be residing on Kailash Parvat. The beautiful view of Kailash Mani Mahesh and apple orchids makes Bharmaur a preferred tourist and pilgrim destination. A cluster of 84 temples collectively known as Chaurasi Mandir which is around 2000 yrs old, is the only place in the world having a temple of Dharamraj.

Day 1:Delhi – Dalhousie (590kms/ 14hr) Pickup from Delhi Railway station / Airport, drive to Dalhousie. Dalhousie was established in 1854 by the British Governor General Lord Dalhousie. Built around five hills Dalhousie is clothed in stately groves of deodar and oak. Its marvelous forests trails overlook vistas of wooded hills, waterfalls, spring and rivulets. Dalhousie still has a touch of the “Raj” and its colonial style building and houses bring back the flavors of an earlier era.Check in Hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay at Khajjiar
Day 2: Dalhousie
After Breakfast move for local sightseeing in Dalhousie. Dalhousie has charming colonial architecture, including some beautiful churches. Its location presents panoramic views of the plains- and like a long silver line, the river Ravi twists and turns below Dalhousie. The spectacular snow-covered Dhauladhar mountains are also visible form this enchanting town. Dinner & Overnight stay at Khajjiar
Day 3: Dalhousie – Khajjiar ( 26 Kms) After breakfast we proceed to Khajjiar. Often called India's Switzerland, the exquisite glade of Khajjiar (1960m) has a circumference of about 5 km. Along its fringes, thick forests of deodar climb the slopes, the snow-line rests above these woods and in the centre of the glade, is a small lake fed by streams that traverse the green carpet. Khajjiar was probably a glacial bowl formed during the last Himalayan ice age and left with a lake that gradually withered away. Khajjiar is part of the notified Kalatop – Khajjiar sanctuary. The Monal Pheasant, a bird which was fairly common till recent times has become relatively difficult to spot nowadays. At Khajjiar there is a 12th century temple dedicated to Khajjair. Day 4 : Khajjiar - Chamba
After breakfast check out the hotel andproceed to Chamba. Chamba town (915m). stands on the right bank of the river Ravi. As a former princely State, it is one of the oldest in the century and dates back to the sixth century. It is well known for its splendid architecture and as the base for numerous excursions. It is also a district headquarters. Drive back to Khajjiar. Dinner & Overnight stay at Mcleodganj.
Day 5: Khajjiar – Dharamshala (150kms / 5 hrs) After breakfast drive to Dharamshala. Dharamshala has everything for a perfect holiday. It is full of life and yet peaceful. Covering a wide area in the form of twin settlement, Lower Dharamshala (1380m) is a busy commercial centre. While upper Dharamshala (1830m) with the suburbs of Mcleodganj and Forsytheganj, retains a British flavour and colonial lifestyle. Dinner & Overnight stay at Mcleodganj
Day 6: Dharamshala After breakfast moveout for local sightseeing. Mcleodganj is a famous little town of Dharamshala also known as “Little Tibet” H. H. The Dalai Lama resides here. At the start of Mcleodganj is a small bazaar filled with variety of Tibetan handicrafts and artifacts. At the end of the spur lies the Namgyal Monastery. The external wall is surrounded by rows of prayes wheels. With in the monastery are large idols of Buddha. A valokteshwara and Padamsambhava and walls lined with Thankas. The charming church of St. John in the wilderness is situated here and this is the final resting place of Lord Elgin, a British Viceroy of India during the 19th century. Numerous ancient temples like Jwalamukhi, Brijeshwari and Chamunda lie on the plains below Dharamshala. Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel. Day at leisure Overnight stay at Mcleodganj
Day 7: Dharamshala – Delhi (520kms/13 hr)
